Eastern overcomes Sheridan’s early lead

Sheridan’s boys dropped a 64-57 Hoosier Heartland Conference game at Eastern on Friday.

The Blackhawks led 21-14 after one quarter, with Caleb Wright scoring 10 points (including two 3-pointers). Trey Page also hit two 3s. The Comets came back in the second quarter, cutting Sheridan’s lead to 29-28 by halftime. Eastern jumped ahead in the third quarter, leading 43-40 going into the fourth.

Wright scored 19 points, followed by Trent DeCraene with 13 and Damon Winston, who hit two 3s on his way to 10 points. DeCraene handed out eight assists. Caleb Wright pulled six rebounds, followed by five each from Winston and Tyler Garner, with Winston also making five blocked shots.

The Blackhawks are 1-2 in conference play and 3-2 overall. Sheridan travels to Frankfort tonight.
