Dennis E. Bryant, 83, Atlanta, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born in Hamilton County on March 18, 1941, to Wayne & Vivian (Heflin) Bryant. On April 8, 1961, he married his high school sweetheart, Ruth Anne Havens. The couple enjoyed 63 years of marriage and raising a family together.
Dennis was a proud farmer and raised hogs until retiring in 2020. He graduated from Tipton High School in 1959. Dennis was a member and Elder of the Hobbs Christian Church. He also was a member of the Omega Tillers Club and the Galveston Archery Club, where he won many trophies for his excellent marksmanship. Dennis loved to go fishing in Wisconsin and at Silver Lake. Tipton County 4-H held a special place in his heart. He was a 10-year member, and his children carried on the 4-H family tradition of showing hogs and steers. Dennis also enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren at their sporting events.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Anne; children, Cheryl Bryant and partner Lisa Brown of Brownsburg, Ind., Christi Ozolins and husband Doug of Atlanta, Carolyn LaMarc and husband Tony of Lakewood Ranch, Fla., Mark Bryant and wife Heidi of Atlanta; a sister, Barbara Clouser of Tipton; grandchildren, Derek and Josh Ozolins, Morgan and AJ LaMarc, and Ava and Aiden Bryant; along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Nick Ozolins.
Dennis’ funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 13, at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. J.R. Moffatt presiding. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Tipton. Visitation will also be on Monday from 11 a.m. until service time.
