Community members are invited to join the City of Carmel in celebrating the National Day of Service by helping to keep the city clean and green.
A trash pickup effort is set for Friday, Sept. 11. Volunteers will play a vital role in honoring the spirit of unity and service through this maintenance effort, supporting the aesthetic appeal of local public spaces, and contributing to environmental sustainability efforts.
Mayor Sue Finkam said city team members will play an active role in the effort.
“Our community members always show up in in big ways to support our city, and I look forward to joining them in helping Carmel continue to shine,” Mayor Finkam said.
Participants must be 18 years of age or older unless under the direct supervision of a parent or guardian.
The city will supply all necessary operational gear, including high-visibility safety vests, protective gloves, trash bags, and litter-picker tools.
Shifts and starting locations:
- 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.: 3400 W. 131st St.
- 5 to 7 p.m.: 861 N. Range Line Road
- 5 to 7 p.m.: 10601 Hazel Dell Pkwy.
