Coroner’s Office investigating death of Carmel man in single-car crash

At approximately 11:30 p.m. on Sept. 9, deputies from the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office were dispatched to a single-car crash at 96th Street and Westfield Boulevard for a death investigation. The driver of the involved vehicle was the only occupant.

Coroner John Chalfin identified the deceased as Matthew Krenzke, 41, Carmel.

“Positive identification of the driver was challenging due to the extent of injuries; however, with the assistance of Fishers police officers trained in Rapid DNA Analysis, the Coroner’s Office was able to make positive identification,” Chief Deputy Coroner Jeff Jellison said.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation, and the official cause and manner of death are pending autopsy and toxicology results.
