Conner Prairie to open historic outdoor grounds for its 2017 season on March 28

Conner Prairie will open its historic outdoor grounds for the 2017 season one week from today.

Spanning nearly 1,000 wooded acres in central Indiana, the museum welcomes nearly 400,000 visitors of all ages each year. As Indiana’s first Smithsonian Institute affiliate, Conner Prairie offers 10 outdoor, historically themed destinations and two indoor experiential learning spaces that combine history and art with science, technology, engineering and math.

Conner Prairie will be open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday through April 9. Days of operation change from April 13-30; the museum will be open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday through Sunday.

Admission is $17 for adults, $16 for seniors age 65 and older, $12 for youth ages 2-12 and free for members and children under age 2. Group tour pricing for 15 or more is $12 for adults and $8 for youth ages 2-12.

Coming up in April will be a special early opening for guests with sensory issues on April 8; Easter on the Prairie and Breakfast with the Easter Bunny on April 15; Follow the North Star on April 21-22 and April 28-29; Arbor Day on April 28; and Shear Fun! on April 29-30. Conner Prairie is proud to partner with other local museums to make family fun available to more families throughout the region. Families that participate in any of the state assistance programs, including Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, food stamps or Hoosier Healthwise Insurance, can utilize our Access Pass and visit for $2 per family member per visit. Aides enjoy complimentary admission with employee ID or proof of employment.

The museum also offers admission relief to military personnel by providing free daytime general admission to active-duty, retired and veteran military members and 50 percent off the general admission price for up to five of their immediate family members. A military ID is required.
