Dear Editor:

Regarding the article about the BESS in Cicero, “Same plan, new name …”

Two of the three members who voted not to send an unfavorable recommendation, Dennis Johnson and Jacob Everett, are also on the city council. They will only need one additional vote from the council to approve the BESS to move forward.

It is a very sad day for Cicero residents when the very council voted to represent them refuses to do so.

Cicero residents are feeling unheard and becoming suspicious that this was a “done deal” prior to the Jan. 14 hearing.

The Plan Commission allowed the two members on both the Town Council and the Plan Commission to carry the favorable vote, knowing the third Council member is already lined up to vote to approve, this way the Plan Commission appears “innocent” in the approval.
