The Kiwanis Club of Cicero will hold a community pancake breakfast and silent auction from 8 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 6 to help celebrate Cicero’s Independence Day festivities. The event will be held at the Cicero Christian Church, 1715 Stringtown Pike. All funds raised will benefit children in the community.

This year’s event will celebrate the local first responders. Emergency service personnel – EMS, fire, police, and sheriff – will be on hand with their fire trucks, ambulances, police, sheriff and emergency service vehicles for show and discussion.

“On behalf of the Cicero Kiwanis, we cordially invite all members of the community to this annual breakfast and silent auction, now over a decade strong,” said Cicero Kiwanis Club President Robin Mills. “The breakfast helps our organization raise money to funnel back into the community. In addition, we will honor the courage and contributions of our local first responders. They are our local heroes who serve and protect our community, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.”

Breakfast will include pancakes, sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy, fruit and beverages. Cost is $8 for guests age 9 and older and $4 for children age 8 and under. The silent auction will feature a wide variety of items including sports tickets, golf packages, themed baskets, electronics, and restaurant and specialty gift certificates to name a few.

Breakfast service begins at 8 a.m. Bidding for the silent auction will take place between 8 and 10:30 a.m. The recognition ceremony and remarks begins at 9:30 a.m. All proceeds benefit community service projects of the Cicero Kiwanis Club.
