The Kiwanis Club of Cicero recently had the honor of hosting and hearing from Andrea Carlile, who is the outreach director for Helping Veterans And Families (HVAF), an organization dedicated to providing hope, housing, and self-sufficiency for all veterans and their families.

“Since 1993, HVAF has been helping homeless veterans return to self-sufficiency and engaging at-risk veterans and their families to prevent them from becoming homeless by providing supportive housing assistance, case management, employment support, therapy, and basic needs including food, hygiene products and clothing,” Carlile said. “We provide services for all veterans, Active Duty, Reserve, and National Guard members, regardless of discharge status.”

Annually, HVAF serves over 1,200 veterans, provides more than 33,000 services, permanently houses over 200 veterans, and hosts over 2,200 pantry visits. To learn more about HVAF, visit HVAF.org or call (317) 951-0688.
