October 21, 1944 – May 18, 2021
Charles “Chuck” Inman, 76, a lifelong resident of Sheridan, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 with his family by his side. He was born in Sheridan on October 21, 1944 to the late Warren Henry and Audia Deloris (Greathouse) Inman. Chuck attended Sheridan High School and afterwards worked as a millwright for 45 years for United Feed, from which he retired in September of 2009.
On February 9, 1963, Chuck married the love of his life, Karen (Mace) Inman, and the two of them have remained at each other’s side for the last 58 years. Chuck and Karen involved themselves deeply with Six Points Wesleyan Church and used their faith and devotion as the foundation of their marriage, while at the same time instilling these values upon their children and future generations to come.
Being a proclaimed gunsmith, Chuck became a member of the NRA. Not only did he collect guns for himself, but also repaired any firearm entrusted to his care. When he was not collecting or repairing guns, he could be found training hunting dogs and would often bring them along on his hunting expeditions with his friends. He also enjoyed leather work, and while he could make all different sorts of items using leather, he was most known for his leather gun holsters for people to carry their firearm by their side.
Chuck never knew a stranger and was guaranteed to know someone no matter where he went. One of his greatest joys was his grandchildren. He looked forward to spending time with them and going to their activities.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack, Billy, Dave, Jim, and Tuffy; and his sister, Julia Ann.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 58 years, Karen; their devoted daughters, Karen (Phil Schultz) Inman, Grayslake, Ill., and Mary (Chris) Moudy, Frankfort, Ind.; and his sister, Sue Wallace. He was a proud grandfather to Sadie, Cora, Matthew, Max, and Chloe; and enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews, along with many friends.
Funeral services for Chuck will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at Six Points Wesleyan Church, 1545 W. 226th St., Sheridan, where family and friends are invited to gather from noon until time of services. Pastor Scott McDermid will be officiating. Burial will follow at Crown View Cemetery.
Everyone is invited to sign the online guest book, leave a condolence, or share a memory at fisherfunerals.com. Fisher Family Funeral Services is honored to serve the Inman family.
