Chariot Automotive Group, owned by Westfield’s own Rex Gingerich, celebrates 90 years serving Kokomo area

Locally-owned Chariot Automotive Group (CAG) is celebrating 90 years of unparalleled service at Button Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in Kokomo.

The dealership has proudly served the community since 1932 when the dealership first opened under John Button. Upon John’s retirement in the mid-1980s, his son Don took over day-to-day operations. Button became part of the Chariot family when Rex Gingerich became a partner with Don Button in 2005.

“We are so proud to have Button in the Chariot Family,” Chariot Automotive Group CEO Rex Gingerich. “It’s incredible to achieve nearly a century of service. Button is a staple in the Kokomo community and it’s an honor to know our customers have trusted us for generations. We are excited to serve them for years to come.”

Gingerich lives in Westfield and raised his family in the area.

Chariot Automotive Group will mark the occasion with a community celebration at the Button dealership, located at 1220 E Blvd., Kokomo, from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 9. There will be a car show, a silent auction, food, and a live band. The Greater Kokomo Chamber of Commerce will honor the historic achievements of Button Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram through a ceremonial ribbon cutting to begin the celebration at 5 p.m.
