Dear Editor:

ATTENTION DEMOCRATS: At the Primary Election on May 5, pull the Dem ballot! We have a full slate of great candidates and you can define the future of our party.

A lot of Democratic voters have been targeted by Republican candidates: they knock Democrat doors, text Democrats, and even send a proxy to the Hamilton County Democrats’ Office to pitch us voting in the Republican primary.

Even as the Hamilton County Democratic Party chair, with ZERO chance that I show up on a Republican list, I’ve gotten texts from Republicans.

They say, “I’m not one of the normal ones” or “I’m not MAGA.”

Democratic voters: reject these Republican pitches. Here’s why.

  1. The HamCo Democratic Primary is loaded with great candidates in contested races. Your vote decides which of these great candidates will be representing you in the general election. Make sure you have a say in the direction of the Party’s future.
  2. Give your Primary vote to someone who aligns with your morals and ethics. Republicans voted for President Trump three times in the primary “because of his economic policies,” and now we’re all living with his questionable moral and ethical decisions.
  3. Responsible voting is a two-way street. If a Republican candidate is so extreme that Democratic voters NEED to vote against them, why don’t the Republican voters NEED to vote against them, too?

Our Democrat primary is deeper than ever, with the most competent and qualified candidates that you will find across the Nation. Your vote has never mattered more. So when you go to the Primary election, pull the Dem ticket!

Josh Lowry
Chair, Hamilton County Democrats
