Celebrate 30 years of Carmel Clay Parks & Rec

Aug. 20, 2021 marks Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation’s (CCPR) 30th anniversary.

Over the last 30 years, the department has dedicated its efforts to providing excellent recreational opportunities for the Carmel Clay community. In celebration of this milestone, CCPR is sharing its story in a new and unique way and everyone is invited to join.

Sharing CCPR’s history

Throughout the month of August, CCPR will share a series of interviews with key stakeholders over the department’s 30-year history. Hear from former Director Mark Westermeier, founding park board member Sue Dillon, and current director Michael Klitzing, to name a few.

Celebrating gold with the community

Last year, CCPR received its second Gold Medal Award for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management from the American Academy for Park Recreation Administration, in partnership with the National Recreation and Park Association. In celebration of the Gold Medal, as well as its 30th anniversary, CCPR will hold a banner unveiling event, and the public is invited. Join in person or virtually on Facebook Live. A formal event invitation will follow.

Share your story in CCPR’s time capsule

Throughout August, CCPR share bits of history, trivia, and more on its social media pages. Join in on the fun by following @CarmelClayParks on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. There may even be a giveaway or two …
