CCHS awarded Indiana Historical Society Heritage Support Grant

The Carmel Clay Historical Society (CCHS) has been awarded an Indiana Historical Society Heritage Support Grant for its project, “Proper Storage of City of Carmel Archival Collection.”

CCHS was awarded $4,999 to go toward purchasing archival binders, sleeves and backing to store the photographs in the City of Carmel archival collection. The City of Carmel Archives collection includes photographs and archival material related to the town of Carmel’s traditions and leadership. The collection can be viewed online at carmelclayhistory.org/carmel-city-archives. Carmel citizens get unlimited free digital copies and prints of items in this collection.

This project is a part of a larger strategic plan to house CCHS collections according to museum best practice. CCHS thanks the Indiana Historical Society, the Lilly Endowment, Inc., and the City of Carmel for their support on this project.
