Carmel’s Patrick Fletchall defends singles state championship

Carmel’s Patrick Fletchall defended his individual singles state championship on Saturday.
The Greyhounds senior easily won both of his matches Saturday at Park Tudor to defend his singles title. Fletchall beat Evansville Mater Dei junior 6-4, 6-2 in the semi-finals, then defeated Bloomington North senior Mac Rogers 6-3, 6-1 in the final.
Fletchall finished his season with a 20-0 record, and was 44-0 over his last two seasons playing for the Greyhounds.
Meanwhile, the Hamilton Southeastern doubles team of seniors Mark Slaninka and Andrew Myers lost a hard-fought match in the semi-finals to the eventual champions, Park Tudor seniors Will Emhardt and Drew Wiegel, 7-5, 6-2.
The Royals duo finished their season 17-10.
