Carmel Symphony Orchestra will livestream this season’s concerts

The Carmel Symphony Orchestra will soon welcome patrons back for the kick off of the 2020-21 season at 7:30 p.m. this coming Saturday, Oct. 10. CSO concerts are performed at The Palladium, part of The Center for the Performing Arts, in Carmel.

Because the CSO understands that not everyone is comfortable attending events in person, a livestreaming option will be available for all concerts.

“This enduring pandemic has made us think outside of the box and be creative in ways we never thought possible,” said Artistic Director Janna Hymes. “Having the capability to live stream our concerts allows us to bring music to people who are unable to be in the hall with us. With limited seating and some of our patrons’ concerns about being out in crowds, we believe this is the perfect solution to bring the beauty of music directly to everyone. At this moment in America, where so much seems uncertain, music has the magical ability to soothe the soul and make life that much better.”

The first of the Masterworks concerts in the Hope Renewed Series this Saturday will include Bartok’s Romanian Folk Dances, Sz. 68; Grieg’s Holberg Suite, Op. 40 and Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings, Op. 48.

To secure tickets for the Live Streaming viewing, patrons may visit the Center for the Performing Arts’ website. Only one $10 ticket is required per household. This livestreaming option is being sponsored by MetroNet. Tickets to attend in person are also still available on The Center’s website, or by contacting the Box Office at (317) 843-3800.

The second Masterworks concert at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 14 will feature CSO’s 2019 Young Artist Competition Winner, Cooper Olsen. The Holiday Pops Concerts, presented by IU Health on Dec. 12, will cap off 2020. These concerts, featuring singer Heather Bays, will be performed at 3 and 7:30 p.m. Sure to get you prepared for a holiday season, these concerts are filled with inspiration and are a celebration for all ages.
