Dear Editor:

I have known Angela Swenson for over 15 years as both a colleague and a friend, and I can say without hesitation that she is the right person for Judge of Hamilton County Superior Court No. 4. She is one of the hardest-working, most principled, and deeply ethical individuals I have ever known, and those are precisely the qualities our community deserves on the bench.

Angie is not just a skilled attorney – she is a proud Army Veteran and a volunteer in our community. She has poured her time and leadership into organizations like the local Girl Scouts, the Carmel Lions Club, and the Indiana School for the Blind and Visually Impaired. Her belief that every person deserves a voice is not a talking point – it is how she lives her life.

After 23 years of practicing law, Angela’s path to the bench is a natural and purposeful one. She is seeking to serve as a judge – not for prestige, but because she knows that a courtroom is where she can reach and help the greatest number of people. Her own personal experiences drew her to family law, giving her a firsthand understanding of the challenges families face when navigating the legal system. Moreover, her experience as an administrative law judge will serve her well on the bench in Hamilton County.

Angela has regularly witnessed how the role of a judge amplifies the ability to make a meaningful difference. Angela’s legal career spans an impressive breadth of practice areas – family law, criminal defense, civil litigation, probate, CHINS (Children in Need of Services), small claims, contract disputes, collections, and guardianship. Angela has also worked as a Guardian ad Litem for children and as a mediator. This depth of experience means she has sat across the table from people in some of the most difficult moments of their lives, and she has never lost sight of the human stakes involved. It is that combination of legal expertise, empathy, and fairness that makes her uniquely prepared to serve as an impartial and compassionate judge.

On May 5, Hamilton County has a clear choice. Angela Swenson has spent her entire career in service to others – as a soldier, a lawyer, a volunteer, and a neighbor. It is time to put that dedication to work on the bench. Vote Angela Swenson for Judge of Hamilton County Superior Court No. 4.
