On Friday, the Carmel Police Department conducted a promotion ceremony for eight officers that were recently promoted to the ranks of sergeant and lieutenant.
During the ceremony Carmel Police Chief, Jim Barlow, referred to the eight officers as the Fantastic Eight. Barlow stated, “In order to get to this spot these officers have proven themselves day in and day out. In my 33 years on the Carmel Police Department we’ve never had this big of a change, this many promotions at one time. For me this is exciting, these are the future leaders of the department.”
