Dear Editor:

I wholeheartedly endorse Sue Finkam for Mayor of Carmel. As the Co-founder of the Carmel Interfaith Alliance, I’ve worked closely with Sue and have seen her unwavering commitment to creating an inclusive city that respects all faiths, cultures, and diverse opinions.

Sue’s dedication to our community is evident through her years of service on the city council, contributing to Carmel’s transformation into one of the nation’s finest cities. Her vision aligns seamlessly with the remarkable legacy of Mayor Jim Brainard. I do not doubt that Sue will continue this legacy.

While I may not always agree with groups like Moms for Liberty as a private citizen, I believe the Mayor should not denounce differing viewpoints. Instead, the Mayor’s role is to foster an inclusive and open community where diverse opinions are valued.

Sue’s warm smile and ability to unite people from different backgrounds are exceptional. Her experience and commitment make her the ideal choice to lead Carmel into the future.

I confidently endorse Sue Finkam for Mayor, knowing she will guide our city toward greater prosperity, unity, and inclusivity.

Rev. Jerry Zehr
