Carmel girls beat Warriors, improve to 2-0 in MIC

Carmel cruised to another Metropolitan Conference victory on Friday, taking care of Warren Central 55-44 at the Eric Clark Activity Center.
The Greyhounds led 17-12 after the first quarter and 28-20 at halftime. Carmel had a nice defensive period in the third, allowing the Warriors only seven points to take a 43-27 lead into the fourth quarter.
Mackenzie Thomas scored 19 points for the ‘Hounds, while Emily Roper reached double-double status with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Roper also had four assists and four steals. Kate Clarke added 13 points, while Laura Valiente handed out six assists.
Carmel is 2-0 in MIC play and 5-3 overall. The Greyhounds will host Westfield on Tuesday.
