Carmel Utilities is partnering with the Hamilton County Household Hazardous Waste Center and Recycle Force to recycle campaign signs generated from the 2026 election season. This recycling initiative prevents an abundance of yard signs going to a local landfill as they cannot be recycled in regular curbside pickup. If residents do not plan on returning their campaign signs to individual candidates, they are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to recycle.
From Wednesday, Nov. 4 through Saturday, Nov. 21, Carmel residents are encouraged to bring their campaign signs and metal stands to the below location, per the appropriate dates and times listed below. Please note the schedule changes due to the upcoming holiday observances.
Carmel Household Hazardous Waste Site, 901 N. Range Line Road, Carmel:
- Open Tuesday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m. and noon
- Closed Mondays
- Closed Wednesday, Nov. 11 (in observance of Veterans Day)
Signs can be dropped off only during the hours listed above. Please do not leave signs during non-business hours.
