Grab those cameras, iPhones and Androids – it’s time for the annual photography contest sponsored by Friends of Hamilton North Public Library (HNPL). The contest is open to area residents Kindergarten age and up, with divisions for amateurs and professionals. A brochure with detailed information, rules and awards is available at both the Cicero and Atlanta branches of HNPL.
Matted entries (no frames) must be submitted with entry form to HNPL-Cicero between July 30 and Aug. 3. Judging is Aug. 4. A reception honoring the award-winning photographers and displaying all entries is at 2 p.m. on Aug. 5, to which the public is invited. Photographs entered will be displayed throughout the rest of August.
Be sure to pick up a brochure to learn more about entry options, display requirements and awards. Each year Friends of HNPL offer this opportunity for amateur and professional photographers to challenge themselves. Entries are judged by at least one professional photographer. Don’t miss this opportunity to share a favorite captured moment and show creative skills.
Friends of HNPL help support library programming, such as Summer Reading. The group welcomes new members and it meets every third Wednesday. More information about the Friends is available at hnpl.lib.in.us/friends-of-the-library.
HNPL libraries are located at 209 W. Brinton St. in Cicero and 100 Walnut St. in Atlanta.
