The University baseball team lost a tough game to East Forsyth (Ga.) 11-10 Tuesday as the Trailblazers continued their series of games in Panama City Beach, Fla.
The Broncos jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning. University struck back by scoring six runs in the top of the second inning.
Finn Steiner smacked a one-out triple, then immediately scored on a double from Philip Jacobs. Quinn Green then doubled Jacobs home. Later, Cooper Cammack singled in Green, then Beckett Suh hit a double, scoring Ryan Castetter and tying the game.
Oliver Kingery batted in the go-ahead runs, scoring Suh and Cammack with a right field hit. With that, the Blazers led 6-4.
East Forsyth tied the game with two runs in the bottom of the second, but University regained the lead in the third inning. Jacobs scored on a wild pitch to push the Trailblazers ahead 7-6.
The Broncos regained the lead by scoring two runs in the bottom of the third. The Blazers answered, putting up three runs in the fourth inning for a 10-7 lead. Kingery got home on an error, then David Gasper scored the go-ahead run. University loaded the bases, after which Cammack drew a walk to send Green home.
The Blazers stayed in front 10-8 until the sixth inning, when East Forsyth scored twice to tie the game. The Broncos took the game with a walkoff sacrifice bunt in the seventh inning.
Jacobs hit two of University’s four doubles.
The Trailblazers are 4-3 and take on Johns Creek (Ga.) at 11 a.m. to continue play in Florida.
