Alex “Big Al” Christopher, 79, Arcadia, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023, at IU Health Tipton Hospital. He was born on May 2, 1943, to Konstandinos “Gus” and Georgia (Malikotsis) Christopher in Sparta, Greece.
Alex proudly served in the United States Army from 1962 to 1965 and became a U.S. Citizen on May 7, 2009. He was a chef and restaurant owner for many years; his restaurants included Falcon Cafe, Three’s Company, 216th Grill, Jackson Street Cafe, and Christopher’s Family Dining. Alex enjoyed fishing, classical music, and listening to all kinds of music from Pavarotti to AC/DC. He enjoyed buying and restoring antique and classic cars. Alex was a hard worker and a generous, funny, and humble man. He was very giving, kind, and willing to give the shirt off his back to someone in need. Alex and his wife Peggie would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in April.
He is survived by his wife, Peggie Christopher; daughters, Angela Pignato and Kimberly (Cory) Lugenbeal; brother, Peter Christopher; grandchildren, Madison Lugenbeal, Stephanie Lugenbeal, and Anthony Christopher; and great-grandchildren, Aiden and Alex Christopher.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Louis Christopher; twin sons; and a grandson, Ruger Lugenbeal.
Services will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, April 7, 2023, at Calvary Baptist Church, 197 S. 9th St., Noblesville.
