The Noblesville volleyball team hosted North Central on Wednesday, but the Panthers swept the Millers in all three matches.
Noblesville’s varsity team lost 25-19, 25-22, 25-14 in a hard-fought match. Senior Dylan Blackwell led the team with five kills, four service points (including three aces), and six digs, while sophomore Gael Esqueda added eight service points and six digs. Senior Koy Hendrich contributed four kills and senior Ethan Barrow had two blocks.
In the junior varsity matches, Noblesville JV Black also fell in three sets, 24-25, 25-23, 15-7. Sophomore Brian Bzdyl led the team with six kills, three blocks, and two service points, while Anas Sakkah had four service aces and nine service points overall, as well as three kills and one block. Sophomore setter Ben Sandahl had 10 assists, two blocks, and three points.
The Millers’ JV Gold team opened its season with a loss to North Central, 15-25, 25-10, 15-10. Setter Elijah Reynolds led the team with nine service points, including a run of eight consecutive points to close the first set, while Eli Chevillet and Eli McNamara each posted five points.
All three teams will be back in action on Saturday, with the varsity and JV Black teams hosting the Miller Classic in The Mill, while JV Gold will play in a tournament at Hamilton Southeastern.
