Plans for the Sheridan Lions Club Annual Mark Sims Memorial Pancake Breakfast were finalized at the March 1 meeting. The breakfast, which will be held at The Community Center located at 300 E. 6th St., begins at 7 a.m. this Saturday, March 11 and concludes at 11 a.m.
The breakfast menu features biscuits and gravy, pancakes, eggs, sausage, orange juice, milk, and coffee. Tickets are just $7 and can be purchased from a Lions Club member or at the door. Children aged 8 and under eat free.
The Sheridan Lions enjoyed visits at their meeting from Sheridan Schools Superintendent Dave Mundy and Sheridan Historical Society President Ron Stone.
Mundy updated the Lions on improvements currently being made to the school’s athletic facilities, including construction of a new fieldhouse, locker rooms, weight room and offices, among other projects.
Stone was on hand to pitch the idea of the town’s annual Fourth of July Parade highlighting the Hamilton County Bicentennial, which the club approved in a vote. The Sheridan Lions Club sponsors the popular yearly event.
The Sheridan Lions also enjoyed a recent visit from Riverview Health family physician Trent Schmale, who also serves as the sports medicine specialist for Sheridan Schools.
The Sheridan Lions also recognized the contribution made by Sheridan Youth Assistance when packages were handed out to needy residents at Christmas. The local organization was mistakenly omitted from recognition.
