Heights beats Frankton, but falls to Winchester

A big second quarter made all the difference for the Hamilton Heights boys team last Thursday, as the Huskies defeated Frankton 66-59 in an away game.

Heights led 12-11 after one quarter, then powered through the second period, scoring 22 points for a 34-23 halftime lead. The Eagles played even with the Huskies in the second half, but Heights was able to stay ahead and get the win.

Three players reached double figures. Tillman Etchison led the way with 20 points, five assists, four rebounds and four steals. John Irion had 18 points, while Maddox Bohland scored 10 and led the rebounding with six.

The Huskies played at Winchester last Saturday afternoon, and lost 67-58. Winchester led 23-16 after one quarter; Heights got back to within 49-48 after three quarters, but the Golden Falcons outscored the Huskies 18-10 in the fourth quarter to get the win.

Etchison had an outstanding game, with 25 points and five assists. Bohland added 13 points, while Irion and Sam Dawson both scored nine. Simon Knott scored two points.

Heights is 6-12 and hosts Westfield on Friday.
