Hamilton Southeastern kept its unbeaten season intact on Tuesday by edging out Center Grove on the road, 55-52 in overtime.
The Class 4A No. 2 Royals trailed 25-23 at halftime and 37-34 after three quarters. Southeastern outscored the Trojans 12-9 in the fourth period to force overtime, then won the extra period 9-6.
Freshman Kennedy Holman was the first of three Royals in double figures by scoring 15 points. Maya Makalusky added 14 points, while her older sister Riley Makaluksy contributed 13 points. Teegan Acres led the rebounds with six. Olivia Brown had five steals and five assists, while Holman made four steals.
The Royals are 5-0 for the season. Southeastern will travel to Franklin Central for its Hoosier Crossroads Conference game of the season on Thursday. The game was moved up a day due to the Royals’ football team playing in the semi-state on Friday.
