Soccer: Sheridan, Noblesville, HSE, Fishers, University all victorious

The Sheridan girls soccer team got another big win on Thursday, taking care of Delphi 9-0 in a home Hoosier Heartland Conference game.

Kadence Voege got the Blackhawks’ first goal, off a corner kick by Mac Smith. Voege scored again minutes later, with Chaney Smith making the assist.

Sheridan began to cruise after that, leading 6-0 at halftime. The game finished with 16 minutes left when Brianna Clausen scored her first-career goal. Chaney Smith provided the assist.

Chaney Smith also scored two goals in the game. Other goal scorers were Makenzy Terry, Lilly Chesney, Ji Warren and Lucy Hester. Warren handed out two assists, with Kennedy Zachery and Clausen both making one.

The ‘Hawks are 2-0 in the conference and 5-3 overall, and travel to Hamilton Heights on Monday.

Noblesville’s boys team traveled to Southport on Thursday and came home with a 6-0 win.

The Class 3A No. 3 Millers scored one goal in the first half, when Sam Divis put a free kick into the net. But things were different in the second half, with Noblesville erupting for five goals.

Luke Odle began the second-half scoring, heading in a cross from Gavin Vogelgesang. Sammy Holland sent a through ball to Divis, who put it in for his second goal of the game. Miles Tucker added the Millers’ fourth goal with 10 minutes left in the game.

Pavlos Michaeloff scored his first goal of the season with three minutes left, off an assist by Holland. Michaeloff soon returned the favor, as he and Dom Fisher assisted Holland on his first goal of the season and sixth of the game.

Noblesville is 4-1-2 and plays Saturday at 3A No. 20 Center Grove.

Hamilton Southeastern beat Guerin Catholic 4-0 in an all-county match-up that also was the 3A No. 4 Royals’ Senior Night game.

Brandon Nuss, Jonathan Leeper and Rex Randy all scored first-half goals for Southeastern. Leeper scored again in the second half, with Logan Wright providing the assist.

The Royals are 7-1-2 and play Saturday at 3A No. 11 Perry Meridian. The 2A No. 14 Golden Eagles are 1-6-1 and host Covenant Christian next Thursday.

Fishers breezed past Pendleton Heights 6-0 on Thursday.

Kyle Clayton scored three goals for the 3A No. 6 Tigers, with Santiago Morales adding two and Caleb Hernandez scoring one. Morales and Noah Reinhart both had two assists.

Fishers is 6-2-2 and plays at Columbus East on Saturday.

University’s boys, ranked No. 3 in 1A, sailed past Anderson Prep Academy 14-0 on Thursday.

The Trailblazers led 12-0 at halftime. Cole Jacob, Sam Ricketts and Chris Millen all scored three goals, Jake Malinzak had two, and Neiman Kumler, Alex Munn and Wes Lucas all had one goal.

University is 5-2-1 and hosts Franklin Community on Saturday.
