Hamilton Southeastern hosted North Central on Monday in a dual meet between the No. 4-ranked Royals and the No. 3-rated Panthers.
North Central beat Southeastern 4-1. The Royals win came from No. 3 singles Abhi Chaddha, who cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 victory. Two other matches were close ones: At No. 1 singles, NC’s Maurquis Willingham outlasted Southeastern’s Rohan Golla 3-6, 6-1, 7-5, while at No. 2 doubles, Rhonit Jha and Tyler Douley got past the Royals’ Leo McVeigh and Alex White 7-5, 6-4.
“The 1-4 score does not tell the whole story of the match,” said HSE coach Graham McMullen. “These matches were decided by the big points. Too many times we were up 40-love, 40-15 and we struggle to convert those opportunities tonight. We bounce back, we focus on the learnings, and we take them into practice and our future matches to turn this score around later in the season.”
