In March 2022, a preliminary report of alleged child abuse or neglect was filed with the Carmel Police Department. An investigation was initiated as a result of the complaint, and it is believed David Abshire, 65, Carmel, inappropriately touched a four-year-old girl while under his care at his residence, where his wife runs an in-home daycare.
On Wednesday, a Hamilton County Judge issued a warrant for Abshire for Child Molesting, a Level 4 Felony. Later that day, Abshire was booked in at the Hamilton County Jail and was later released on bond.
