INDOT to hold virtual meeting on Indiana’s electric vehicle infrastructure deployment plan

Through the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program created by passage of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), Indiana will receive nearly $100 million in federal funding for Electrical Vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure over the next five years.

While formula funds are essentially guaranteed for each state, BIL guidance requires each funding applicant to submit an EV Infrastructure Deployment Plan which details how use of NEVI formula funds is consistent with Federal Highway Administration guidance on developing charging networks along designated alternative fuel corridors and provide infrastructure for underserved communities.

Join the Indiana Department of Transportation for a virtual session from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13 to learn about Indiana’s EV Infrastructure Deployment Plan. During the live stream event, INDOT and the support team will walk through each section of the draft plan. The presentation will conclude with a live question and answer session to receive public comment on the draft plan.

Registration is encouraged but not required. The event will be hosted live on INDOT’s YouTube channel.
