Enjoy best of art, shopping, music this weekend at Meet Me on Main in Carmel

Come to the Carmel Arts & Design District from 5 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, June 11 for Allied Solutions’ Meet Me on Main. Make your way to Main Street and Range Line Road for an evening of art, shopping, music, and more.

Meet Me on Main is the City of Carmel’s monthly “second Saturday” event to highlight local galleries, restaurants and design-related businesses in the District. Art galleries and businesses will feature special events specially planned to enhance the art and design-related features of the District.

Visit the art galleries and businesses to enjoy their special offers, as well as special activities in the Arts & Design District:

  • Live music stationed along the sidewalk throughout the district: Emma Hedrick, in front of Kuaba Gallery (404 W. Main St.); Rosie Inman, next to Carmel Chocolate Café (45 W. Main St.); Classical Music Indy, in front of Indiana Artisan (22 N. Range Line Road)
  • Take & Make art projects featuring pastel work next to Sub Zero Nitrogen Ice Cream (111 W. Main St., Ste. 130)
  • Free caricatures in front of Circle Real Estate (30 W. Main St.)
  • Carmel Fire Department community display next to Vitality Bowls (110 W. Main St., Ste. 115)
  • New featured artists and special events at various art galleries along Main Street and Range Line Road

Art on Main Gallery & Gifts

Art on Main Gallery & Gifts, 111 W. Main St., Suite 140. A reception open to the public for the June exhibit will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 10. All are welcome to come and meet the artists and enjoy light refreshments. Art on Main Gallery and Gifts is extending its hours for Meet Me on Main. There is also a new exhibit for June titled, “Color Your Dreams” featuring artwork by Kim Greene of Carmel and Ladan Abbanspour of Fishers and jewelry by Jill Dunn of Carmel. Kim and Ladan’s paintings are full of color and sophistication, and Jill’s beautiful jewelry includes metals and stones. There are also new works and gift options by the other 20 in-house, artists including mosaic art, candles, glass art, fine art photography, greeting cards, charcuterie boards, coasters, framed and unframed prints and canvases and so much more. The shop features three rooms full of original art made by Indiana artists.

CCA Gallery & Gifts

CCA Gallery, 111 W. Main St., Suite 135. CCA’s June Featured artists are having their artist’s reception on June 11. Stop by and take in all the fabulous colors of Summer with the June Featured artists:

  • Joy Tilson Cobb creates amazing colors and patterns in her contemporary paintings in all sizes – perfect for a wall or even art for your desk.
  • Roberta (Bert) Sturges has a delightful collection of her adorable, fused glass birds, along with wonderfully colorful sun catchers, night lights and other beautiful fused glass pieces.

Meet the artists at the reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Discover what inspires them and enjoy refreshments.

Indiana Artisan Gallery

Indiana Artisan Gifts & Gallery, 22 N. Range Line Road. Carol Burt, a Muncie potter, turns clay into functional and decorative pieces that are sometimes playful, always beautiful and often both. You’ll delight in talking to her and watching her work. Everyone in the family can take a turn in the Top Spinner Contest, and all will enjoy the pottery demonstration that Burt will bring to Indiana Artisan Gifts & Gallery. Back by popular demand, the contest will determine if Fawzi Breidi’s winning 2021 spin – 1 minute, 18 seconds – can be topped.

Kuaba Gallery

Kuaba Gallery, 404 W. Main St. Enjoy an aperitif and music with artist Claudia Labin at Kuaba Gallery. Labin is a mixed media and sculpture artist whose works are currently on display at the gallery.

The Art Studio of Carmel

The Art Studio of Carmel, 30 N. Range Line Road. The Art Studio of Carmel features work by Deb Slack, Barb Gregory, Cy Donnelly and Sandy Burke, as well as students in their various classes. They will also feature a “sale” section of artwork. The Studios of 30 North will also be open, featuring artists Barb Gregory and Deb Slack.

Construction continues on 1st Avenue NW north of Main Street. Please continue to drive with caution. Access to the Sophia Square parking garage is open.
