Board members of Nickel Plate Express and parent company Nickel Plate Heritage Railroad Inc. will welcome community input on Monday.
Nickel Plate Heritage Railroad Inc. will hold an open house from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 13, at the Arcadia Heritage Depot, 107 W. South St., Arcadia. The community may attend to learn more about proposed excursion offerings and provide input and suggestions.
The Arcadia Heritage Depot will serve as headquarters for the Nickel Plate Heritage Railroad Inc. The depot will showcase the unique agricultural and manufacturing history of the area. Community members will have the opportunity to share personal stories to help shape the exhibit.
“The Arcadia Depot has been an icon in this community for more than five decades,” said Toni Dickover, president of Nickel Plate Heritage Railroad board. “This new venture is exciting, and we want the community to help us shape its future.”

Formerly the Arcadia Heritage Depot/Arcadia Arts & Heritage initiative, Nickel Plate Heritage Railroad Inc. is a non-profit. The organization will serve as the governing body for the new heritage railroad operation, Nickel Plate Express. It will manage train programming and marketing with excursion rail service contracted to Atlanta Pacific LLC Railroad.
