Thanksgiving week is around the corner, and with it is the first helping of boys basketball in Indiana.
Official practices began on Monday, and IHSAA schools can begin games on Monday, Nov. 20. Two Hamilton County schools are starting on that date: University will welcome Shortridge while Guerin Catholic travels to Cathedral.
Three local schools will play their first games on Tuesday, Nov. 21. Hamilton Southeastern welcomes Muncie Central to its gym. Meanwhile, Carmel and Fishers will be on the road: The Greyhounds and their new head coach Ryan Osborn will travel west to Zionsville, while the Tigers and their new head coach Matt Moore will travel south to Lawrence Central.
Two more schools will tip off on Wednesday, Nov. 22 by hosting old rivals. Noblesville will welcome Indianapolis Northwest to The Mill, while Hamilton Heights takes on Lebanon at the Husky Dome.
Westfield will open its season Saturday, Nov. 25 at Kokomo. Sheridan will begin on Friday, Dec. 1, when it heads up to Clinton Prairie, a Hoosier Heartland Conference game.
