Carmel girls, GC boys reach lacrosse state title games

The Carmel girls and Guerin Catholic boys lacrosse teams both reached the state championship game in their respective divisions this week.
The Greyhounds beat Evansville Memorial 15-3 in the state semi-finals of the Girls Class 2A tournament Monday afternoon at Murray Stadium. The Golden Eagles also played Evansville Memorial, this time in the Boys 1A tournament, winning 15-6 in a Tuesday state semi-final.
The Carmel girls play Guerin Catholic in the 2A final at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Heritage Christian. Guerin’s boys play South Bend St. Joseph at 4 p.m. Saturday at Hamilton Southeastern for the 1A championship.
In the boys 2A state semi-finals, Carmel hosts Southeastern at 6:30 p.m. tonight.
