Huskies win all-county softball game

Hamilton Heights beat Sheridan 10-0 in a six-inning all-county softball game on Monday.
Bella Neiling led the Huskies at the plate with three doubles, scoring three runs and batting in two more. Lily Roush also scored three runs, and had a dominant outing in the circle, striking out 18 and allowing only one hit.
Makayla Clark had the hit for the Blackhawks.
Sheridan fell to Rossville 13-1 Tuesday in a five-inning Hoosier Heartland Conference game. Jacquellynne Bates scored the Blackhawks’ run in the fourth inning.
Heights dropped a 22-0 game at Yorktown on Tuesday. The Tigers held the Huskies to two hits, one each from Alayna Baber and Kaylee Rhoton.
On Wednesday, Heights rebounded to beat Frankfort in a 9-2 home game. The Huskies got on the board right away, as Baber scored in the first inning when Neiling reached on error.
Rhoton singled in Faith Hittle for a third-inning run, then Hittle hit a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning to send Emma Blanton home. In the fifth inning, Roush scored on a passed ball, then Neiling got home on an error, putting Heights up 5-0.
The Huskies put up four runs in the sixth inning. Roush’s right field line drive brought in Hittle, Baber was scored when Neiling reached on error. Roush got home for Heights’ eighth run, then Rhoton batted in Neiling.
Rhoton had two hits, while Neiling smacked a double. Roush pitched a complete game, striking out 11.
The Huskies are 9-13 and finish the regular season Friday by hosting Alexandria.

Fishers picked up a walk-off win in its Hoosier Crossroads Conference finale on Tuesday, beating Brownsburg 3-2 in an eight-inning home game.
Hailey Trueblood batted in the winning run for the Tigers, scoring Hannah Abbott with an RBI fielder’s choice. Abbott scored two runs and hit a double for Fishers, with Abby Gavin getting the other run. Hannah Trueblood had two hits.
Kate Murray pitched the complete game, tossing 12 strikeouts.
Fishers finished HCC play 3-4 and is 8-13 overall. The Tigers play this afternoon at Anderson.

Izzy Kemp threw a no-hitter for Guerin Catholic Monday in its 4-0 win at North Central.
Kemp allowed only two base-runners for the entire game, both on walks. She finished her no-hitter with a strikeout for the third out in the seventh inning, giving her 13 strikeouts for the contest.
The Golden Eagles scored their first run in the first inning when Lucy Kemp stole home plate. Guerin Catholic then added three runs in the sixth: Lucy Kemp got home when Madi Cain reached on error, Cain scored on an Anna Mauch single, then Izzy Kemp got home on an error.
Guerin Catholic is 8-10 for the season.

Westfield dropped a pair of games earlier in the week.
The Shamrocks lost to Western 5-2 in eight innings on Monday. Both teams scored one run in both the sixth and seventh innings. Cara Snedeker got Westfield’s first run when she was sent home by Allie Dolenc’s sacrifice fly. Sam Breaux led off the seventh inning with a home run to tie the game. But the Panthers scored three runs in the eighth to get the win.
Avery Parker was 3-for-4 at the plate, including a double. Chloe Tanner struck out six in five innings, allowing just one hit.
On Tuesday, the ‘Rocks dropped a 5-2 Hoosier Crossroads Conference game at Avon. Parker scored a run in the fourth inning when Breaux singled her in. Avery Banas batted in Breaux with a left field hit in the seventh inning.
Westfield is 14-9 and finishes the regular season today at McCutcheon.
