This year, the Nickel Plate Express welcomed the spring season with its Easter Express rides for the two weekends preceding Easter Sunday. During the ride, families helped the farmer find his missing eggs – and the Easter Bunny even made a special appearance.
The Easter Express was only the kickoff to a great season of train exhibitions both for families and adults. Read on to see what the Nickel Plate has in store for rain fans this year.

Mother’s Express Brunch
Saturday, May 7 at 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Celebrate Mom with a delicious brunch spread on board the historic train. Take a 75-minute ride on the tracks with coffee and mimosas available on board. Custom brunch charcuterie boxes will be served to passengers in Dining, while Coach passengers will enjoy bakery-style muffins and fresh fruit.
Dinner Express
Saturday, May 21 at 4:30 and 6:30 p.m.
Enjoy a night out with the family while dining on the train. Passengers will enjoy a 90-minute ride on board the historic train while dining on pizza and enjoying family time together. Adult ride options will be available in the dining car and will feature a tasting and cocktails from Hunt Club Distillery in Sheridan.
Father’s Express
Saturday, June 18 at 10 and 11:30 a.m.
Climb aboard and enjoy a donut with Dad! Celebrate Father’s Day on Nickel Plate Express with a 75-minute train ride. Start the day with coffee or orange juice and a tasty donut.
Adult Rides
Tiki Express
Saturday, April 30 at 3 and 5:30 p.m.
For one night only, Nickel Plate Express transforms into a tropical tiki bar. Passengers will enjoy dessert options from Hot Toddy’s and a special tropical drink menu during this 90-minute train ride. Come dressed as a tacky tourist for a chance to win prizes.
Cinco de Mayo Express
Thursday, May 5 at 6 p.m.
Holy guacamole … it’s a Cinco de Mayo party on the historic train! Come ready to have fun during this 90-minute train ride. Included in your ticket is a taco dinner from Texy Mexy and a fun Cinco de Mayo drink.
Uncorked Express
Saturday, June 18 at 1 and 3 p.m.
Sip & Savor on the train! The Uncorked Express returns with local winery Sugar Creek. Enjoy a 90-minute cruise through the countryside on the historic 1956 train equipment while sampling wine from Sugar Creek Winery. Ticket includes four wine samples and charcuterie tray. All aboard for a unique and memorable date experience!

Hobbs Station Grand Opening
Saturday, June 11 at 10 a.m., 11:15 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 2 p.m.
Be one of the first to depart from the new Hobbs Station at Forest Park Depot. Take a celebratory 45-minute ride on the historic train while enjoying the scenic countryside.

About the Nickel Plate Express
The Nickel Plate Express is a program of the Nickel Plate Heritage Railroad, a charitable nonprofit that operates the historic Arcadia Depot and offers entertainment and educational excursions on historic train equipment from Hobbs Station, at Noblesville Forest Park. The 12.5 miles of Nickel Plate Track is owned by the Hoosier Heritage Port Authority. Nickel Plate Express seeks to educate and entertain all ages through moving historical experiences.
