Royals drop HCC opener to Bulldogs

Hamilton Southeastern dropped its Hoosier Crossroads Conference opener on Wednesday, falling 3-1 to Brownsburg at Ken Seitz Field.
The Bulldogs scored two runs in the top of the first inning, then added a third run in the top of the second. The Royals got their run in the bottom of the second inning; Cole Earlewine drew a walk to lead off, advanced to second base when Harrison Dilts was walked, then scored on an Ian Bucher base hit.
Both teams had five hits for the game, with Southeastern’s Landon Riekhof hitting a seventh-inning double. Braden Strawmeyer struck out six in three innings of relief.
The Royals are 2-2 overall and play at Brownsburg today to finish the conference series.
