Several Hamilton County track and field teams were in action Saturday at indoor meets, as they were trying to get in position to qualify for next weekend’s Hoosier State Relays at Indiana University.
Hamilton Southeastern hosted the Blue and White Relays at Anderson University; Guerin Catholic, Westfield, the Noblesville boys team and Hamilton Heights throwers were also in attendance. The Royals boys got two victories at the meet. Will Gerig finished first in the 60 hurdles, clocking in at 9.12 seconds. Manraj Grewal was the high jump winner, with a best leap of 6 feet, 4 inches.
Noblesville and Guerin Catholic both had runner-up relay finishes; the Millers in the 4×200 and the Golden Eagles in the 4×800. Noblesville’s Will Johnston also tied for second in the pole vault. Westfield placed third in the 4×400 relay.
In the girls meet, Southeastern won four events. The Royals got three relay wins, in the 4×200, 4×400 and 4×800, and Ally Elsbury took home a victory in the 60 hurdles.
Westfield’s Princess Campbell triumphed in the 60 dash, finishing in 7.90 seconds. Guerin Catholic took third in the 4×800 relay.

The Carmel boys and Noblesville girls teams traveled to the University of Indianapolis Saturday to compete at the Pike Last Chance HSR Qualifier #3.
The Greyhounds picked up four victories. Desmond Duffy won the 60 dash, then joined Gabriel LaBoyteaux, Drew Willman and Greg Gottlieb to win the 4×400 relay. James Philpott won the 60 hurdles, while the distance medley relay team of Connor Heagy, Charlie Schuman, KJ Sweeney, Connor Mallon triumphed in that event.
The Millers picked up three event wins. Paige Hazelrigg paced the 3200, while Rylee Hassan was part of a four-way tie for first in the high jump. Noblesville also won the distance medley relay.
