Golden Eagles beat Chatard to reach Sectional 27 final

Guerin Catholic advanced to the championship game of Class 3A Sectional 27 at Lebanon Friday with a 54-46 win over Bishop Chatard at the Tigers’ Rosenstihl Gymnasium.
The Golden Eagles got on top of their Circle City Conference rival early, leading 12-6 after one quarter. Guerin Catholic then held a 22-15 lead at halftime, and went up 34-26 after three periods. The Golden Eagles extended their lead to 44-30 at one point during the fourth quarter.
Will Grissom had an outstanding game, reaching double-double status with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Lucas Parker added 10 points. Guerin Catholic had an efficient shooting night, making 17 of 34 attempts, exactly 50 percent. Aden Cannon blocked two shots.
The Golden Eagles are 14-10 and will play another CCC rival, Brebeuf Jesuit, in tonight’s championship game, which tips off at 7 p.m. The Braves beat host Lebanon 44-33 in their semi-final game.
