February 8, 1957 – February 23, 2022
Mila Jane Wallace, 65, Sheridan, passed away in the early morning of Wednesday, February 23, while in hospice care. She was surrounded by family as she peacefully departed. Known to most as Jane, she was born on February 8, 1957, to Dortha Lee (Ferguson) Boulden and Robert K. Boulden of Sheridan.
Jane graduated from Sheridan High School in 1975, then attended Ball State University for a time. She was also a member of the Sheridan First Christian Church. Jane and Chris Wallace married in 1980, and from that union they had two children: Jessica Lee (Wallace) Kilies and Jamie Lynn (Wallace) Connors.
Jane was a loving homemaker and mother for many years. She found immense joy in landscaping and being outdoors in her flowerbeds. She created a home and space where her children as well as nieces and nephews’ friends all found a place to gather and have fun. Jane’s house was the broader family gathering place and many significant life events and holidays were spent together under her roof.
Jane is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Jessica and Chad Kilies, and Jamie and Rob Connors; a new granddaughter, Remi Jane Kilies; two sisters, Vicki Anne (Boulden) Combs and Dana Kay (Boulden) Hart; and many nieces and nephews.
Jane’s funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 28, 2022, at Sheridan First Christian Church, 107 W. 3rd St. Sheridan. Calling will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, February 27, 2022, at Sheridan First Christian Church. Burial will follow the service at Crown View Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorial contributions can be made to Elsie’s Flower Shoppe so Jessica and Jamie can purchase two trees they can plant in honor of their mother.
