A packed house enjoyed a night of giving and art on Thursday at Bar Louie, 1111 W. Main St., Carmel.

Local fine artist Gavin Goode of SemperFly Studios performed a live painting event and had his art on display throughout the location. SemperFly Studios is a fine art and design company. Goode’s specialty is applying fine art to any surface, be it interior or exterior, residential or commercial. Surfaces include wood, concrete, plaster, canvas, vehicles, the human body and steel, which has become a staple of SemperFly because of the degree of difficulty to work on. SemperFly is also a commercial design company specializing in the design of over 40 pubs, restaurants, parlors, museums, and an airport.

Philanthropy has become a major goal of SemperFly over the past six years. Goode’s skillset as a fine arts painter combined with the experience of preforming on the highest of stages in film as well as the military have generated hundreds of thousands of dollars for various charities, veteran organizations, and fund raisers. Members from the Carmel-based organization Synergize were in strong attendance as a way to positively impact their community. They have partnered with Angels and Doves Anti-bullying Campaign to spread awareness and help bring an end to bullying in schools and society.

Angels and Doves is a nationwide 501(c)(3) committed to reaching all people of all ages experiencing bullying. The group has spoken in schools, churches, after-school programs, apartment complexes, workplaces, around picnic tables, and more. Plus, they provide trusted administrators with Anti-Bully boxes, a unique way to continue anti-bully training beyond a single program. Learn more at angelsanddoves.com.

This kicked off the opening of Bar Louie’s Art Gallery, which will feature local art available for purchase at any time. Goode painted a giant steel piece of the musical group The Ramones.

There was a raffle, food and drinks, and live music for the evening, all supporting Angels and Doves and local artists at Bar Louie in Carmel. One hundred percent of ticket sales went to Angels and Doves to purchase bully boxes to be distributed within schools to help stop bullying in the local community.
