Guerin Catholic dropped a Circle City Conference game at Bishop Chatard 53-41 on Friday.
The Class 3A No. 6 Trojans led 16-8 after the first quarter. The Golden Eagles cut that lead to 21-17 by halftime, but Chatard threw in another 16 points in the third period to hold a 37-27 advantage going into the fourth, then added 16 more points in the fourth. The Trojans are undefeated for the season at 11-0.
Will Grissom scored nine points for Guerin Catholic, and also had five rebounds and four assists. Robert Sorensen added eight points, including two 3-pointers.
The Golden Eagles are 0-2 in conference play and 6-6 overall. Guerin Catholic returns to the Eagles Nest next Friday for another CCC game, hosting Covenant Christian.
This Friday’s game was to be a girls-boys doubleheader between the Golden Eagles and Chatard, but the girls game was postponed.
