Methodist Sports Medicine, Indiana’s premier provider of orthopedic services and the team physicians for the Indianapolis Colts, will be celebrating the grand opening of its new clinic Thursday, Sept. 28, after being named the official medical provider of the 400-acre Grand Park sports campus in Westfield.
The new, permanent clinic for athletes and patients is located on the second floor of the massive Grand Park Events Center. The 2,500-square-foot facility will be staffed by athletic trainers, physical therapists and a chiropractor. It will have X-ray capability, plus sell durable medical equipment (DME) such as crutches, joint braces, cryotherapy and rehab items.
As part of the partnership between Methodist Sports Medicine and Grand Park, all local and national sporting events at Grand Park are staffed by medical personnel from Methodist Sports Medicine.
Dr. Michael Heitholt, who earned his doctorate in chiropractic from Palmer College in Davenport, Iowa, will be seeing athletes and patients at the Grand Park clinic. Dr. Heitholt has Indiana roots – he is originally from Carmel and attended Indiana University.
Methodist Sports Medicine’s full-time staff at the Grand Park clinic will include Dr. Heitholt, three athletic trainers and a physical therapist. An orthopedic surgeon will be on-call and available for all major tournaments at Grand Park as well.
To celebrate this new clinic and partnership, Methodist Sports Medicine is hosting a grand opening celebration at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 28, with a ribbon cutting ceremony at noon in front of the Grand Park Events Center. Members of the media are invited to attend and receive exclusive tours of this new facility.
