Westfield is hosting a heavy trash drop-off day on May 13.
The heavy trash and bulk item drop-off event provides Westfield residents an opportunity to get rid of materials that cannot be disposed of in their weekly trash and recycling.
A list of acceptable items can be found below. There is no charge for most items. A nominal fee will apply for certain objects for which only cash will be accepted.
Participants must provide a copy of their city of Westfield trash/storm-water bill to prove residency.
Technology Recyclers will be on hand to help residents dispose of monitors, laptops, televisions, printers and other tech equipment. Ray’s Trash is providing document shredding services at no charge.
The event starts at 8 a.m. and goes until Noon at Westfield Public Works, located at 2706 E 171st Street. A second event will be held later this year on October 14.
