Grand Park Welcomes Whale of a Sale to the Events Center

Grand Park is excited to welcome Whale of a Sale children’s consignment event to its Events Center, May 11-13. The popular event, which is Indiana’s largest children’s consignment event, features more than 42,000 square feet of clothing from baby to teen sizes, toys, furniture and more at a fraction of the retail cost.

More than 500 consignors will bring 50,000+ children’s items to the spacious facility. New and gently-used upscale children’s and maternity items are offered.

“We think the community will really enjoy having this event so close to home,” said Westfield Mayor Andy Cook. “When we built the Events Center, we intended to bring consumer shows and this event is a perfect fit for our family-focused community.”

The event features popular brands such as Gymboree, Baby Gap, Ralph Lauren, Janie and Jack, Peg Perego, Graco, Fisher Price, Pottery Barn Kids and many more. Shoppers can expect to find upscale spring and summer clothing, toys, furniture, strollers, bedding, accessories, bikes, outdoor play equipment, maternity and a variety of area vendors. Women’s activewear clothing will also be sold including popular brands Lululemon, Athleta and more.

Started in 2009, Whale of a Sale takes place each spring and fall.  Two public shopping days and two private pre-sale days accommodate thousands of customers.

Admission is FREE. Public sale hours are Friday, May 12 from 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Saturday, May 13 from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. Many items are half price on Saturday.

Demand to shop early has led to a VIP pre-sale Thursday, May 11 ticket from 4 – 9 p.m. that can be purchased for $10 for customers wanting to shop before the general public. New parents may also register to shop early Thursday, May 11 from 5 – 9 p.m. for the Enfamil New Parents Night.

Whale of a Sale was voted the #1 consignment sale in Indianapolis from Indy’s Child Parenting Magazine readers! Consignment is increasingly popular as families find kids growing out of clothing and equipment quickly, and also desire to be “green” by recycling gently-used gear.

Butler University alums and Carmel moms, Courtney O’Neil and Jennifer Hare, are the founders of the sale. O’Neil says they enjoy being able to provide local families a, “fun, fashionable and clean bargain-hunting experience. We are NOT a garage sale – expect upscale finds.”
