Westfield Washington Schools (WWS) invites former students, staff, families, and community members to celebrate the history and memories of the current Shamrock Springs Elementary building during a farewell open house from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29.

As Shamrock Springs prepares to move into its new school building later this year, the event will offer the community an opportunity to walk the halls, revisit familiar spaces, and reflect on the many memories made in the building since 1994.

The open house will be a come-and-go event, with brief remarks from current and former school leaders beginning at 6:30 p.m., followed by a large group photo of attendees. Guests will also have opportunities to share memories and participate in small activities commemorating the building’s history.

The farewell celebration will take place while the current building is still actively serving students, offering visitors a chance to see the school as generations of Shamrocks have experienced it.

Known for its distinctive architecture, the current Shamrock Springs building has served generations of students and families. While the building holds a special place in the community, aging infrastructure and the cost of necessary repairs made constructing a new facility a more cost-effective, long-term solution. The current building will be demolished and replaced by athletic fields in order to replace the fields which occupied the site of the new facility.

The event is open to all community members. Please note that the new Shamrock Springs building will not be available for tours or walkthroughs during this event.

WWS looks forward to welcoming alumni and the community back to celebrate the people, traditions, and memories that have made Shamrock Springs Elementary a special place for so many years.
