Dear Editor:
I have known Devon Wellington for more than three years, and even though I do not live in District 29, I support her without hesitation. My confidence in her comes from watching how she treats people, especially those who need patience, understanding, and advocacy.
I once observed Devon work with a special needs child I taught. She didn’t simply offer encouragement; she repeatedly sought solutions, compromises, and creative approaches to help that child succeed in difficult circumstances. That experience showed me her character. Devon is a peacemaker, someone who listens first and works toward unity rather than division.
I have also seen her make every effort to understand the experiences of people whose backgrounds and concerns differ from her own. She engages with humility and genuine curiosity, even when disagreements arise. That is the kind of leadership our state needs.
Indiana is home to many diverse communities – politically, culturally, and socially. We need representatives who can bridge those differences and work toward shared progress. Devon Wellington is uniquely skilled, qualified, and deeply committed to doing exactly that.
