Walmart locations throughout Hamilton County will hold their Wellness Day event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, giving families a chance to connect with pharmacists and access health and wellness services close to home.
Customers can stop by Wellness Day for free health screenings, including blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose and BMI checks, along with no-cost flu shots for most patients with insurance (subject to restrictions), and other recommended vaccinations and immunizations where available, as cold and flu season also gets underway.
Walmart pharmacists will also be on hand to answer questions about GLP-1 medications, including coverage, cost, and what to expect, as more Hoosiers look into options like the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge Program. No appointment is necessary.
The timing is notable given that Indiana’s measles case count continues to climb this fall, with many Hamilton County families asking whether they are protected, from checking their own vaccination records (not just their kids’) to figuring out whether they are up to date, to knowing what to do if they think they have been exposed.
For the latest case counts and official public health guidance, the Indiana Department of Health updates its measles page each weekday.
