Dear Editor:

Democrats aren’t running to change Hamilton County simply for the sake of change. We want to preserve the things that made Hamilton County a great place to live: strong public schools, safe communities, inclusive and sustainable growth, and quality amenities that benefit our families.

At the local level, we all want many of the same things. The real question is whether our current elected officials still represent the priorities that helped build Hamilton County. Today, we see a Republican national agenda that has shifted away from traditional local values, raising questions about whether our community’s needs are still getting the priorities they deserve.

We believe growth should create opportunities for everyone. That means thoughtful development, housing and amenities that serve a broad range of residents, and protecting the character of our neighborhoods. It also means preserving local control so the people who live here have a meaningful voice in decisions affecting their communities, rather than having those decisions dictated by state or national political agendas.

We’re asking for balance and a stronger voice for public schools, neighborhoods, public safety, infrastructure, and the amenities that make our communities successful.

Hamilton County shouldn’t belong to one political party. It belongs to all of us. Balance in government means more voices at the table, greater accountability, respect for local decision-making, and policies focused on the people who actually live here.

Our goal isn’t change for the sake of change. It’s making sure Hamilton County continues to be a great place to live for everyone, while giving our communities the input to shape our future together.
